Oak Park Area Craft Brewery Pass

Chicago is known for many things. Chicago deep dish pizza, Chicago hot dogs, even Chicago breweries. However, just outside the city limits, Chicago has some competition when it comes to breweries, brewpubs, and craft beer. Sure, Chicago has Goose Island, Revolution, and others, but what they don’t have is the Oak Park Area Craft Brewery Pass that gets you into some of the top breweries just west of the city.

The Oak Park Area Craft Brewery Pass provides you extra savings on some of the most delicious pours this area has to offer. Plus, it’s mobile exclusive. So, it’ll be instantly delivered to you via text and email, meaning there’s absolutely no app to install. Once bought, it’s good for 30-days from purchase, which gives you 30-days to try all the ales, saisons, doppelbocks, English porters, and even some more inventive flavors you can get into a pint glass. There’s also extra information on hours of operation, with maps of the area of the breweries right at your fingertips. Plus, for only $29 the pass gets you a flight at each of the participating breweries.

The Oak Park Area Craft Brewery Pass is easy to use. To redeem, just show it to the bartender or waitstaff and start enjoying its benefits. To get started, you can buy the Oak Park Area Craft Brewery Pass right here.

Plus, since all four breweries are located in cities that offer flavor outside the brew pub: Oak Park, Berwyn, and Forest Park, you can try some of the top beers these areas have to offer, and then visit where those breweries call home.

Here are the four breweries, you can currently enjoy with the Oak Park Area Craft Brewery Pass. Come taste the top ales and meet those who brew some of the best beers in the Chicago area.

The One Lake Brewery building in Oak Park has been many things in its past life, from a bank to funeral home, even a doctor’s office. Now it houses one of the newer breweries to hit the area. Located on the corner of Austin and Lake Street in Oak Park, One Lake Brewery is a glorious building with three levels, including a rooftop deck with views of the Chicago skyline. One of the first things you’ll notice when you walk inside is the two-story chandelier hanging in their dining room made from beer bottles. One Lake Brewery offers a wide variety of beers that are brewed right there on the premises. Their beer list rotates seasonally but be lookout for options like Bock to Normal, which is a Dunkel Bock ale with deep malt flavors, with bread crust, toffee, caramel and chocolate undertones. Their OLB Lager is their version of an everyday American backyard lager with notes that are light, dry and easy to drink. Their Reinheitsge Not is a version of a style of ale that’s been primarily extinct since the 1500s. It has a wheat base that’s finished with molasses and local honey and dry-hopped with Hallertau Mittelfrüh. Its characteristics are herbal with a sweet honey finish. Commonwealth is an American style ale made with a variety of grains and a low amount of hopping. Its flavors are a combination of both malty and toasty. Another delicious drink is Telegraph Hill. This California common style beer has a caramelly undertone. Its characteristics are high alcohol, toasty, with a hoppy presence. They also have plenty of guest beers on tap that rotate in and out.

Kinslahger, located at 6806 Roosevelt Rd., started with homebrewers doing what they love to do. It has since turned into quite the operation. Kinslagher operates four, eight-barrel tanks and two twenty-barrel tanks. There are also several one-barrel tanks that they brew for smaller batch beers for the taproom, but those larger tanks help distribute Kinslagher’s creations throughout the greater metro Chicago area. You can find their beer lining the shelves grocery stores, liquor stores, and even other brew pubs. There are plenty of options to choose from, with a wonderful rotating seasonal menu as well. Some of their flagship beers include a prohibition-style pilsner that’s more hoppy than many other traditional domestic pilsners, with a well-finished taste. The altbier is a style that comes from Dusseldorf, that has a more hop forward malty flavor and an amber color with a dry balanced finish. The Chicago common is a red beer with a hint of spicy rye and a medium body balanced with pine and earthy hop aromas. The Baltic porter is a brown ale with deep tan head and creamy body. It gives off a taste of fig, chestnut, and dark chocolate. It also clocks in with a higher ABV. There’s also a Dunkel style beer, with a creamy foam head with a rich wave of maltiness that’s balanced by a hoppy bitterness.

Exit Strategy is a craft beer pub situated on Madison St. in Forest Park. It’s the real-life exit strategy of Katherine and Chris Valleau, the couple who gave up their traditional jobs for something a little more untraditional. These brews have taken major awards around the country, so far totaling over 40 in the few short years they’ve been in operation. The brew house, found behind the brewery, is where they craft their ales Their Persephone beer, named after a Greek goddess, is a pomegranate wheat ale brewed with white and flaked wheat and American two-row barley. It’s the first beer this couple made from scratch, and it took top honors in the 2013 Illinois Brewers of South Suburbia competition. Exit Strategy is an American pale ale that has a well-balanced hoppiness. It’s brewed and dry hopped with Ahtanum, Amarillo, Cascade, Citra and Simcoe hops. The Judgmental Dick is an imperial IPA at 8 percent ABV. It’s brewed using honey, Chinook, Simcoe, Amarillo, Cascade and Citra. Apologize is a traditional Belgian witbier, with the flavors of bitter orange peel, coriander seed and ginger. Rue Dauphine is a saison is a French Pilsen malt. It combines yeast and lemon peel to give a fruity, tart and slightly dry flavor. There’s even a brew called the Vallueaudated, named for the owners. This milk stout offers a big chocolaty aroma and flavor with a ting of sweetness. It’s made with Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans and Ghana cacao nibs. There are plenty of others to try on their rather large beer list, including even some more abstract concoctions.

Flapjack Brewery in Berwyn’s vibrant Depot District began as a creation by brothers whose love of beer has brought others together to share in their love. They work with a three-barrel system where they make small batch brews and serve them on 8 taps. You can find hard seltzers like their Clearly Checked Out Coconut Lime hard seltzer, or the Flapjack flagship offering, Fantasmo, which is a vanilla cream ale made with Mexican vanilla beans. There’s a hearty milk stout in the form of How ‘bout You Sideburns? And a delicious IPA in their Negativity Spreader. Whatever your flavor is, there is plenty of taste at Flapjack Brewery.

Even though these breweries are at the top of their game, their hospitality is on display as they welcome you in, with access to the brewing process, and open your horizons to new tastes and twists on flavors.
